Boston Team On Set in Phoenix: Shooting Interview Content with a Dual Sony FX6 Setup
We’re writing this one from Phoenix, Arizona!
Yes, we’re a Boston video production company.
Yes, we’re very happy to be in the sunshine right now!!!
This week we’re on location for an interview-style shoot, running a dual Sony FX6 setup for a clean, cinematic two-camera look.
While the scenery is different, the process is exactly the same as it would be in Boston.
Interview Shoots Are All About Control
Interview-style video production looks simple from the outside…. but maybe that’s coming from someone who does this for a living? We have our same steps in place - a good crew and great talent. That’s what matters
Lighting needs to feel natural but intentional.
Audio needs to be invisible but flawless.
The subject needs to forget the camera is there.
That’s where preparation makes the difference.
Our Camera and Lens Setup
For this shoot, we’re running two Sony FX6 bodies.
On A camera, we’re using a Sony 35mm f/1.4 or 50mm f/1.4 depending on the room layout and how much environmental context we want in the frame. Both give us beautiful depth of field while keeping the image grounded and natural.
On B camera, we’re using a Sony Cine 85mm f/1.4. That tighter focal length gives us compression, separation, and a more intimate angle that works perfectly for emotional moments or key statements.
This combination allows us to:
Preserve natural delivery without interrupting strong answers
Cut between angles seamlessly
Maintain pacing without jump cuts
Create depth in what would otherwise feel static
The FX6 paired with fast prime glass gives us strong dynamic range, clean skin tones, and flexibility in controlled lighting environments. It’s a reliable setup for interview-driven brand content.
Same Standards, Different State
Even though this shoot is in Phoenix, our production workflow is identical to what we use for Boston interview video production.
Strong pre-production planning
Clear creative direction
Efficient on-set execution
Realistic post-production timelines
Location changes. Process doesn’t.
First Time Filming in Phoenix
There’s something energizing about shooting somewhere new.
The light feels different. The environment feels different.
But at the end of the day, what matters most is creating content that feels natural, credible, and aligned with the brand.
That part never changes.
