How to Choose the Right Videographer in Boston
Boston is overflowing with creative talent - from indie filmmakers to full-service production teams - but not every videographer fits every project. Whether you’re a business planning a brand video, a couple capturing an engagement, or a nonprofit documenting an event, choosing the right videographer in Boston can make the difference between a forgettable video and one that actually moves people.
Video Podcasts Are the Future of Content in 2025
When I watched the latest episode of On Purpose with Emma Watson, I realized that for audiences, watching – not just listening to – podcasts is the future of the medium. Somehow, a world that had issue with watching anything for more than 15 seconds is suddenly entering a new era where one can watch 2+ hours of three stable shots on the same two people. It’s a miracle (and it might not seem real) but more and more of these videos are popping up across platforms on the web.
The Cameras and Gear We Use for Boston Video Production in 2025
When you’re hiring a video production company in Boston, you’re not just hiring people – you’re hiring their tools, experience, and creative vision. At Bunker Hill Media, we believe being transparent about the gear we use helps clients understand the level of quality we bring to every project. The cameras, lenses, lighting, audio, and grip equipment we bring to set aren’t just name brands – they’re professional tools that allow us to create cinematic visuals and reliable results for corporate videos, brand stories, testimonials, and events across Boston.
Here’s a look at our gear in 2025, why we’ve chosen Sony as our camera ecosystem, and how this setup helps us deliver professional videography services in Boston and beyond.
Why Every Boston Company Needs a Corporate Brand Video in 2025
Setting the video production stage…
If you’re running a business in Boston in 2025, you already know how competitive the market is. From the Seaport to Kendall Square, every brand is fighting for attention. But here’s the truth: no matter how sharp your website looks or how catchy your tagline is, nothing connects with your audience like video. And not just any video — a corporate brand video that shows who you are, what you stand for, and why people should trust you.
What AI Can’t Do, and Why You Should Still Hire a Real Video Production Company in 2025
Artificial intelligence is everywhere in 2025, and video production is no exception. From AI-generated stock footage to automated editing tools and even AI avatars, there’s no denying that AI has made parts of the production process faster and more efficient.
But let’s be clear: if you want to produce professional-grade video content that feels authentic and hooks your audience, AI falls short.
Sony FX30 vs Nikon ZR 2025
The Sony FX30 and the Nikon ZR are two cameras everyone’s talking about in 2025. Both are aimed at filmmakers who want “cinema-style” features without breaking the bank, but they couldn’t be more different. The FX30 is Sony’s entry-level Cinema Line body — basically a baby FX3 — while the Nikon ZR is Nikon’s bold attempt to crash the party with specs that sound like they belong on a RED.
So, which one is worth your money? Let’s break it down.
One Year Later
Hear ye, hear ye! It has been exactly one year since I dramatically announced to the internet that I was aware of my typos and didn’t plan to fix them. A true milestone. And against all odds, here you are again, reading another one of my ramblings! Hello to my fans (aka: mom, dad, maybe a Google crawler bot). It was September 18th last year that I realized that maybe we were getting some more traction to our website and I was like man, maybe I should actually write a blog for once.
Let’s make it a tradition - here we are one year later.
Here’s the business update: I am actually kind of proud of myself. Over the last year, I kept hammering away at these blogs, stuffing them with SEO keywords like “Boston video production company” and “Boston videographers” (hi Google!) and the wild thing is it worked. There is a lot more that has gone into it, but let’s just say it’s been a really long process that has paid off.
Sony FX3 vs Nikon ZR: Which Camera Should You Choose in 2025?
TLDR : If you’re already invested in the Sony ecosystem, there’s no reason to panic - don’t feel like you need to ditch the FX3 for the Nikon ZR. While the ZR is impressive, a lot of its appeal is built on headline specs that look flashy but won’t matter for 99% of working filmmakers. Things like “internal RAW recording” or “32-bit float audio” sound amazing, but most people reading this blog aren’t using them — and probably had to look up what they even mean.
That’s because Nikon essentially took features you’d expect on a RED camera and packaged them into something affordable for creators who don’t really need them.
Now, if you’re buying your very first camera, the ZR’s lower price and larger monitor might be tempting. But for me, it always comes back to real-world use. The FX3’s high native ISO of 12,800 is something I rely on every single shoot, and it’s the reason I wouldn’t trade it for the ZR. Specs are cool - but dependability in low light is what wins jobs.
What Is The FX6’s Native ISO?
The FX6’s native ISOs are 800 and 12800. On this note, let’s dive into what native ISO is and why should you care.
If you’ve spent any time behind a camera, you’ve probably heard people talking about “native ISO.” It’s one of those terms that gets tossed around in filmmaking circles, but many shooters don’t fully understand what it means - or why it’s so important for clean, professional-looking footage. In this post, we’re breaking it down with the Sony FX6 as our main example, since it’s one of the most popular cinema cameras in 2025 and a staple for Boston video production.
Do You Really Need a Script for Your Brand Video?
Short answer: yes. Long answer: you’re about to read it.
When people think about video production, they usually picture cameras, drones, lights, and actors. But one of the most overlooked parts of a successful brand video is the script. Not necessarily a word-for-word teleprompter read, but a clear outline of what you're saying, showing, and communicating.
In 2025, brands in Boston (and beyond) are investing more in video than ever. But without a plan on paper, you risk wasting time, overspending, and ending up with content that doesn't land.
How We Prep Clients for a Smooth, Stress-Free Video Shoot
Let’s be real: most people don’t know what to expect when they show up to a video shoot. And that’s totally normal. Whether it’s your first time on camera or you’ve done a dozen content days with other teams, working with Bunker Hill Media means you’re not walking in blind.
Do I Need to Hire a Licensed Drone Pilot for My Commercial Video in Boston? Here’s Everything You Need to Know
Drone footage has become a staple in modern video production. Whether you’re showcasing a Boston skyline, capturing a real estate property, or highlighting an event, aerial shots add cinematic impact that makes your video stand out. But here’s the catch: not just anyone can grab a drone and start flying — especially not in Boston’s crowded and heavily regulated airspace.
If you’re a business owner looking to hire a Boston videographer for a commercial project, it’s critical to understand what kind of licensing and clearance your drone operator should have. Choosing the wrong person could put you at risk for fines, legal issues, and even safety hazards.
Why Backlinking Matters for Your Business’ SEO
Backlinks - also known as inbound links - are links from one website to another. Think of them as digital referrals. When another site links to your content, it signals to search engines that your page is trustworthy, valuable, or relevant. The more high-quality backlinks your site earns, the more credibility it builds in the eyes of search algorithms like Google’s. This can directly influence how high your content ranks in search results. But not all backlinks are created equal - links from authoritative, contextually relevant sites carry far more weight than links from spammy directories or unrelated blogs. At their core, backlinks serve as a form of social proof on the web, helping your site gain visibility, authority, and ultimately, more traffic.

Sony FX3 vs FX6: Which Is Better for Client Work?
If you’re a filmmaker, producer, or videographer deciding between the Sony FX3 and the FX6, you’re not alone. These two powerhouse cameras both deliver excellent image quality and flexibility — but when it comes to client work, one may have the edge.
We’ve used both of these cameras on commercial shoots, interviews, brand videos, and social content, and while the FX3 is a strong contender, there’s a reason we almost always reach for the FX6 when clients are involved.
Let’s break it down.
Why We Recommend Melo Multimedia for Video Production in Minnesota
At Bunker Hill Media, we take pride in being a reliable video production partner for brands across Boston and beyond. But we also know that no one does it alone. When our clients are looking to create content in other parts of the country - whether it’s a multi-city campaign, a fast-paced shoot that requires local crew, or just a creative collaborator who gets it - we tap into a trusted network of partners who we’d vouch for every time.
And in Minnesota, that partner is Melo Multimedia.
Sony FX2 vs FX3a: Comparison Guide
If you’re looking for a quick answer - here is my take: If you prioritize photo and are looking for a camera that can take video get the FX2. If you prioritize video and take photos here and there, like we do, get the FX3a. If you are a serious video production company - don’t expect to rely on that FX2 as your main workhorse to get your job done the right way.
There is no need to rush to the store to replace your FX30 with an FX2. I think there is no harm in doing that because I think there is a better case for comparison between those two cameras vs the FX3 - but that’s for another blog!
Today we are comparing the FX3a and the FX2 so you can make a really informed choice on which will be better for your production needs.
As a video-first production company based in Boston, we’re still team FX3a. But let’s be clear: the FX2 is still a very cool camera with serious potential for hybrid shooters, content creators, and anyone who wants a powerful full-frame camera with incredible stills capabilities.
Also… I think the eye piece would drive me absolutely nuts.
Can I Use AI to Make Video Content for My Business?
You’ve seen the ads: “Create an entire video in seconds with AI.” Or maybe you’ve even tried a tool that writes scripts, edits your clips, or turns text into flashy animations. AI video tools are making content creation more accessible, and they’re only getting better.
So as a business owner or marketing lead, it’s a fair question:
“Can I use AI to create video content for my business?”
Or even more directly:
”Why would I hire a professional production company when AI tools can do it faster and cheaper?”
So, lets unpack that honetsly.
Why Boston Brands Are Investing in Video in 2025
If you’re a business owner or marketing leader in Boston, you’ve probably noticed something: your competitors are showing up more often - and more confidently - on video. Whether it’s a punchy product ad on Instagram, a founder-led story on LinkedIn, or a sleek brand video embedded right on the homepage, high-quality video content is no longer a nice-to-have. It’s a baseline expectation in 2025.
At Bunker Hill Media, we’ve seen a major uptick in demand from Boston-based companies across every industry: fitness, tech, real estate, education, and nonprofits. They all want the same thing - strategic, story-driven video content that actually connects.
Let’s talk about why.
